  • Workshop organized to build capacity of school management

    15 Oct: WWF-Pakistan’s Green School Programme (South region) hosted a training workshop for management representatives of certified Green Schools. The training workshop was designed and delivered by Google Pakistan. Badar Khushnood, Country Consultant, Google Pakistan, facilitated the workshop.
  • Bahria Foundation College signs for Green School Programme

    1 Oct: Bahria Foundation College, Gulshan campus, signed up for the Green School Programme this academic year. The signing ceremony was held on campus and agreement was signed by Ashfaq Agha, branch principal.
  • BSS Gulshan Middle 2 joins Green School Programme

    30 Sept: Beaconhouse School System (BSS), Gulshan Middle 3, became the third Green School to come on board in the south region. The agreement was signed by Huma Moin, branch headmistress.
  • Green School Programme signs agreement with 60 Second International

    Karachi, September 17: Green School Programme south came into agreement with 60 Second Intl. Film Festival (60SIFF) for the pioneering initiative of ‘The Green 60’. The signing ceremony took place at the Karachi office and agreement was signed between Abrar Hasan, Founder-Director Festival and Rab Nawaz, Director Sindh. A major activity for the programme this year, the collaboration will activate with engaging workshops being offered to Green School ambassadors by 60SIFF experts. Beginning in November, the workshops will train students in utilizing mobile technology to create their own 60 second message-bearing documentaries. The activity will culminate with an exciting competition, where students would submit their own documentaries for the environment category of the film festival and an eminent jury panel will judge the best from the lot. The three final winners will be awarded at the screening ceremony of the festival in Karachi and given special recognition. The winners’ work will also be screened internationally, in the global events of the festival. The programme will arrange special screenings in the Green Schools for the best ten documentaries of the Green 60 category.
  • Green School Programme (South) signs an agreement with Apna Karchi FM 107

    Karachi, September 19: Green School Programme south signed an agreement with Apna Karachi FM 107, one of the largest radio networks in Pakistan, for the Speak for Green Radio Championship.
    The signing was held at the radio station’s office and agreement was signed by Lubna Wali, Assistant Manager Marketing for the channel.
    Objected towards instilling the importance of advocacy, the championship will kick start the programme in south this year. Green School members will be taken through various rounds that acquaint them with impromptu speaking skills and radio broadcasting technology. The finalists will be trained and given their own program slots for running the Green School online radio. The winner of the competition would be determined via online voting and live judging in the final ceremony. The grand prize for the lucky one would be the opportunity to be on national air-time and getting to co-host an actual two hour morning show with a leading RJ on Apna Karachi FM107. The show would focus on our environmental concerns, WWF-Pakistan’s extensive role in conservation and the winner’s journey. Students would be given special orientations and training in every leg of the competition in order to make this an enriching exercise. Apna Karachi FM 107 will also be our promotional partners for this period, supporting the cause via various avenues such as radio spots, dedicated interviews, social media activation and RJ announcements.
  • BSS Gulshan Middle 1 Goes Green!

    Karachi, September 15: Beaconhouse School System Gulshan Middle 1 is the first Green School to come on board in the south region this academic year. The signing ceremony was held at the school campus and the agreement was signed by Uzma Imtiaz, branch headmistress.
    The forthcoming attitude of the branch’s leadership combined with the innovative plan of activities that Green School Programme has for this year, made this collaboration possible in a short period of time.
    Green School Programme (GSP) will offer structured events and activities to engage new student ambassadors, which include an exciting radio championship and documentary-filming competition. The programme is aimed towards nurturing an environment-conscious generation and facilitating the development of globally applicable skills.
    This branch has over 700 students, making it a promising achievement for GSP-south.
  • BSS Jubilee campus signs up for Green School Programme

    Karachi, September 18: Beaconhouse School System Jubilee Campus signed up for Green SchoolProgramme this academic year and came onboard the campaign’s south network. The signing ceremony was held at the school premises and the agreement was signed by MsShireenKaramally, branch principal. The programme’s focus on empowering students as ambassadors for nature conservation in Pakistan and the structured activities it offers for all grades made the management enthusiastic towards implementing it.
    The branch has over 1500 students with classes ranging from primary and to O-Levels and the programme would be activated for the entire student body.
