Green School Programme

The Green School Programme is a platform to engage schools in promoting:

  • Environmental Preservation

  • Energy Efficiency

  • Waste Management

  • Sustainable Living Practices

This initiative helps schools assess and reduce their environmental impact through the adoption of energy-saving measures and eco-friendly waste management practices and by inspiring their students to champion sustainability.

Programme Goals

The Green School Programme aims to cultivate environmentally conscious individuals with the knowledge and skills to tackle environmental challenges. By integrating eco-friendly practices into daily school operations, we foster lasting environmental stewards.

How the Programme Works

Environmental Impact Assessment

Schools conduct assessments to measure their current environmental footprint, identifying areas where improvements can be made.

Action Plan for Sustainability

Based on the assessment, schools implement tailored action plans focusing on reducing energy usage, promoting recycling, conserving water and engaging the community in green practices.

Teacher and Student Engagement

The programme involves the entire school community in its sustainability efforts. Teachers and students participate in activities, from eco-friendly projects to awareness campaigns, reinforcing their role in environmental preservation.

Training and Support

WWF-Pakistan provides schools with the necessary resources, training and support to integrate the Green School Programme effectively. This ensures a smooth transition to sustainable practices and long-term impact.

Aligned with the Global Goals

The Green School Programme supports the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, promoting a culture of sustainability and teaching schools how to minimise their environmental impact.
