Objectives
WWF – Pakistan presents fresh graduates and young professionals a world class opportunity to put their education to practical use by joining the Annual Fellowship Programme. The Programme offers hands on experience of working in an international nature conservation organization to develop future managers and promote dynamic careers in nature conservation. It also promotes careers in nature conservation by developing linkages with academic institutions and strengthen WWF-Pakistan’s image as an employer;
Scope
Fellowships shall be offered once a year ;
Duration of the Fellowship Programme shall be 1 year;
Students and professionals with 4 years Bachelors or 2 years Masters Degree from an HEC recognized educational institution shall be eligible to apply.
Fellowships may be offered in any of the functions / departments and projects across the country; number / type of positions offered shall be reviewed annually;
The Fellows shall follow the Employee Rules of WWF - Pakistan;
Recruitment Process
Selection will be done through written tests and interviews;
Written tests will be conducted on campus or at the offices of WWF- Pakistan; Test results will be used to shortlist applicants for the interview:
The interviews shall be conducted by a panal as nominated by the Fellowship Programme Committee. The final decision on the selection of the Fellows will be made by the Committee;
Salary & Other Entitlements
Monthly stipend as per WWF-Pakistan’s Grades structure;
Group Life Insurance as per the assigned Grade;
Perdium / travel costs as per the assigned Grade;
Fellows shall be provided with necessary office equipment like computers, stationery, and other essentials for the accomplishment of task as assigned by the supervisor/s.
Orientation
Human Resource Department shall conduct / Coordinate a formal orientation session for the “Fellows” within a week of joining WWF - Pakistan at the Head Office in Lahore. The orientation session will cover WWF - Pakistan’s history, mission, vision for the future, standards of conduct and on going initiatives. It will be a 2 days session which will include a field trip to the nearest project site office;
Assignments / Work Plan
Each Fellow will be assigned to a base station (WWF – Pakistan Office);
During the first three months the fellows will be required to spend time with different functions / departments and projects as per requirement of a given position; During the last nine months the fellows will be working on specific assignments;
The work assigned to the Fellows will help them understand the organization, continually test and develop their skills so that they make a genuine contribution towards the mission of WWF – Pakistan;
Fellows may be exposed to other organizations within the same sector;
Progress made by the fellows shall be assessed by the concerned supervisor/s as they move through the Programme; Acceptable performance will ensure continuation with the Programme;
Regular Employment Opportunities
Fellows may be considered for any related vacancies during and after the Programme; Maximum Institutional support will be available but success will depend upon how focused and ambitious the fellows are, what opportunities they identify and how much responsibility they take for their own development;
