Fawad Afzal Khan, Earth Hour Ambassador, Inaugurating EartHour 2012 With Green Schools On March 9th, 2012 TO SPREAD THE WORD FOR EARTH HOUR 2012 Between 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

March 9, 2012. Fawad Afzal Khan inaugurated Earth Hour 2012 with WWF-Pakistan’s Green Schools including American School of International Academics, The City School Ravi Campus and Beaconhouse School System Canal Side Campus, BSS Defence,BSS Johar Town and LGS 55 main at Beaconhouse School System Garden Town in Lahore.
WWF-Pakistan and Qarshi Industries launched Earth Hour with the Green Schools to celebrate a worldwide commitment to ongoing change for the betterment of the one thing that unites us all – the planet. Hundreds of Green School young Ambassadors lit candles with Fawad Khan as a symbolic act summoning all to stand up, to take responsibility, to get involved and lead the global journey to a sustainable future.

The ceremony closed with the Green Students singing the National Anthem with the Ambassador, Fawad Khan.
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later Earth Hour became a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries participating.

Earth Hour 2012 will take place on Saturday 31st March at 8.30PM (local time). It will continue to be a call to action to every individual, every business and every community throughout the world.
